Why do you look for the living among the dead?

Hello Reader,

The angels at the empty tomb asked the women a question that I've been reflecting on this week: "Why do you look for the living among the dead?"

This Easter, I'm getting honest about the dead places I've been looking for life — not out in the world, but inside my own heart. The self-talk that tears down instead of builds up. The thoughts that are not true, not honest, not of good report.

What happens when what's living in our hearts starts flowing out of our mouths?

You’ll discover:

  • Why the angel’s question at the tomb isn’t just about Easter morning — it’s about every morning
  • What Matthew 12:34 reveals about the connection between your heart and your words
  • How to tell the difference between the Holy Spirit’s conviction and the enemy’s condemnation
  • A practical way to replace dead thoughts with living Scripture
  • Why guarding your heart is the most important battle you’ll fight this week

If you’ve been carrying the weight of your own inner critic, this episode will remind you: the tomb is empty, and you don’t have to live there anymore.

Hello Reader, Have you ever faced something so big you didn’t even know how to start praying about it? In this episode, we sit with a king named Jehoshaphat who caught news of an army he could not beat, and we watch what he did instead of panicking. His prayer in 2 Chronicles 20 hands us a pattern for the battles we never asked for, the ones that show up before we have any idea what to do. The place where we don’t know what to do turns out to be the exact place God’s answer begins. LISTEN NOW...

Hello Reader, A few days ago, an email landed in my inbox that I almost scrolled past. It was from a woman I knew years ago, back in a different season of life. She started her note the way may of you start yours: You probably don't remember me, but… (For the record — I usually do.) She told me she'd been a single mom for nearly two decades. That she'd finally remarried someone she thought was safe. And that she was now sitting in the middle of an ugly divorce, with gaslighting and emotional...

Hey Reader, Moments of desperation strike every human heart. Whether tragedy, sickness, or brokenness, the reasons for our despair seem endless. As I have drenched myself in the Psalms season after season since my daughter, Taylor’s, death in 2019, Psalm 102:17 has often arrested my attention. “He will respond to the prayer of the destitute.” I researched the word “destitute” because in my mind, I typically would define destitute as “homeless.” Maybe you too? So I read every major Bible...
